I would definitely get the X100s if I was in your shoes.

But then again, I wouldn't have purchased an OMD. ;)

I've owned and x100 and now a happy OM-D owner. Im sure the x100s will be the camera we all wanted the x100 to be, however the option to have a good variety of lenses for the OM-D will keep me with this system for a while. They are 2 different beasts and I don't think you can go wrong with either.

I had always planned to purchase an X Pro 1 but the non impressive AF steered me towards the OMD. I'm pretty well invested in the OMD but I think eventually I'll migrate over to an X100s and X Pro 1 (successor) combo. - I guess I just answered my own question.

I recently picked up an xpro1 to supplement my 5D2 as a daily carry camera. Overall I'm very impressed but not without caveats. The whole RAW thing is quite frustrating and doesn't fit into my normal workflow, and for a longtime SLR user it's a major shift in thinking that requires some study and practice. On the positive side, jpegs look very good, manual exposure settings are a major strength, and canon flash uses the same pins as fuji (or viceversa) so accessories play nicely together. I can use my Pocket Wizard Alpha TT1 (or OC-E3 cable) on the xpro1 and get reliable manual flash from my 580ex II on the other end with a Flex TT5. I also found a great inexpensive EF to XF lens adapter at Fotodiox.com so my L lenses can play too. All of this said however, I don't think the xpro1 would be a good full time replacement. Though IQ is probably the best I've seen on a cropper it still lacks that special subtle something only full frame or larger sensors can deliver.

Cheers,
Robbym

I've had mine for a week now (the x100s that it) its awesome, but the only qualm is the OVF is useless at a metre or less, it wont focus and the parallax is a pain in the back side. But other than that its tremendous and extremely sharp.

I just received my thumbs up grip for it, makes it SOOOOOOOOOOOO much more comfortable to hold, especially one handed.

Sample - i left the camera lying around at a party welcoming people to use it at their own will, no one who attended had any idea about cameras. Some one picked it up and it took this photo, at f2 with focus on the furthest fellas face. Please excuse the alcohol and consumption vessels.

I can't give you a percentage but this is obviously a very heavy crop of the focus point.

Very encouraged by what I've been hearing so far. AF performance is really the only thing "wrong" with the X100 (most of the other stuff is subjective), and it looks as though they've improved that quite a bit. I also really dig the idea of their new split-image MF aid.

Sadly, I'm not made of money and don't want to sell my NEX-7 (though a 16mp X100s would be dangerously close to "the only camera I need" and therefore a near-cure for GAS), so it looks like I'll be waiting around a year for used X100s prices to fall. Good thing the X100 is still great!
