90% of the time I have my 50mm 1.4 on. All this could change if I ever get the nerve to drop some $$ on a 24-70 2.8

having sold all my previous lenses and camera to get my current set-up i now only have the one lens 24-70 mk2. which has inspired me to view my shots in a different way. i now use my feet more to make a shot. as much as i would love a telephoto i am very happy with what i have currently.

my 40mm stays on for grab and go ease. if I'm going out for a walk and I know I may need the zoom I take the 28-105.

The camera is just a tool - it is not responsible for the picture.

17-55 on the 40D, 40mm pancake on 6D for grab and go (light combo that packs a punch!).

35L as I can't fit the body and lens with the 70-200 in the bag. I rarely use the 17-40 unless I'm on vacation.

For general usage the 15-85 but when I want to get creative then the sigma 30.

I would guess 65/35 split.

For now, the 50/1.4 is my favorite. I like the 17-40 for wide, the 85 for reach, and the 40 for portability, but the 50/1.4 always is my go-to lens for most situations. My copy is crystal clear even at 1.4 (so long as I don't recompose) and is still small enough to drag into most situations.

When I am out and about photographing birds it invariably tends to be the 500 (with or without extender) on one body and the 100-400 on another body so I am covered for longer range shots but can simply swap over for when birds come in closer so I limit any ops I may otherwise miss.

24-105L is my everyday lens on my 60D. Used to be the Tamron 28-75 f/2.8, that was a great lens as well.
