Beautiful shots!!

Thanks. :)
Yep bought this lens because I want to ge into portrait photography a bit more. I need to practice a lot but so far I love this lens. :)

Yes, I'm also thinking that this lens is great for candid shots of kids and pets and whatnot. A stealthy lens for a crop sensor especially. Cant wait to go out to the woods to do some portrait work with it too. It does feel like looking through binoculars after being so used to the 30mm FL..

Who needs zooms?

PS. Have you noticed, that you can use the lens hood that came with the 30mm Sigma, on this lens too? ;)

Nice. I'm not a fan of the 50mm on a crop (especially of the f/1.8 that I gave ot my brother).
And I plan to replace the Sigma 30mm by the 35mm Art. :)
But this combo is really nice and polyvalent. :)

PS. Have you noticed, that you can use the lens hood that came with the 30mm Sigma, on this lens too?

No I didn't. Thanks for the tips ^_^

I am thinking about buying this prime. I do not have a prime in my collection right now and i have been debating on if its worth buying since i do have a ef 70-200mm f/2.8l is usm in my collection. I have been told that my 70-200 can do what the 85 can but to carry around that lens it is so heavy and after a while it gets tiresome, especially at indoor sporting events. I also want this lens for portraits. The reviews i have read praise this lens till no end claiming its L series quiality with out the L series lable. Does anyone have any negative comments or additional positive comments to add? Also those of you who also have the ef 70-200mm f/2.8 is usm do you think the 85 is worth buying and adding to my lens line up?

My thoughts exactly! I love my primes...even though I just got rid of my 50 f/1.8. I never have had a "good" zoom lens though, so maybe I'm just lacking the experience with one, but I am perfectly content with my primes. They are my favorites :).

Lol no, I don't praise the devil. I just made a joke. Since this is page 666 of this thread, I told you guys to post pictures of devils (as in caps, other clothes...) taken with this lens. Don't take it too seriously. :)

question:

does anyone use this for sports at all?

given it's a prime, i'd like this for the upcoming baseball season.

I think it would work very well with sports, given the speed of the AF and the nice FL.

I took this lens outside for the first time yesterday, I have to say, it's the best lens i own for shooting people outside. I'm starting to dig the FL. Here's a few shots from the playground.
