I recently went to my 4 year old sons pre-school play. It was really cute, except for all the people holding up their Ipads in front of me video taping their kids and blocking everyones view... Anyone else encounter this or think it's rude?

To top it off, most were holding the Ipad vertically, going to look real good on your flat screen!

I don't get it with the IPad thing, I've a couple since they came out and have not used the cameras on them even once. I see people doing it all the time, I'm wondering if their cell phones don't have a camera.

Saw hundreds of people in NYC using the IPad as their travel camera. Always made me laugh.

You must've missed the memo: "Apple is cool."

Apple could launch iToilet and people would be carrying that around to poop. I'm sure it'll have a retina display so you can see your poop in all its glory.

I saw this for the first time the other day. I was out minding my own business with my camera. And about 100 feet away was a guy raising a big square rectangle thing in the air. I quickly realized what he was doing. My thought at the time was "really?"

I used to roll my eyes when I see people raising their phones in front of themselves. I guess phone photography isn't as bad as tablet photography. lol

As obnoxious as they are, I understand it. Its as close as you are going to get to interface free photography. For people who want as little complication as possible, this is it.

I've seen people chasing around their kids on the playground with iPads...

Makes a lot of sense to me - in that the video is on the device you may want to to show it to others. For example, a father might do it to show his wife when she gets home. Having the capture and display device the same is a huge time saver.
