I'm just curious that if the 10-22 has been fine, and you send the camera back to Canon and they decide to alter the camera significantly. Your 10-22 might end up being off later.

Your 10-22 might end up being off later. I see. I don't see the 10-22 being fine however, since at 10 feet from subject using the 85mm at f/1.8 the total DOF should be at about 3.3 inches. 1.6 in front and 1.6 in the back. The entire DOF seems to be shifted about 5 inches forward. It's the same with the Siggy. Fuji XT1 ::: Fuji XF 56mm/1.2

I, now, have 2 fully functional 7Ds that have been capable of doing everything I need them to do, to date. There's going to have to be a lot better "something" built into the next one to make it worth the size of a cash outlay that's likely going to have to happen to get one. - Eric S.: My Birds/Wildlife

I've only got 29k clicks on the shutter and I don't abuse my gear but I don't hold back from using it either. modchild wrote in post #15760507 I dropped my 7D a few weeks ago and while there's hardly a scratch on the body it needs £600 worth of work to fix it. 2 PCB's and the AF Drive needs replacing. There is no "AF Drive" in the 7D or any other Canon camera. -- Ken

Mar 27, 2013 20:49 | #41 I went from a 50D to the 7D. I bought my 7D used off of a friend who ran right at 110,000 shutter clicks. He shot 2 Super Bowls, 3 Indy 500's, over 50 NFL games, and various other pro and college games. The camera has been abused to the fullest. He put in a new AF was all. I have shot over 30,0000 clicks myself and it is going strong. I shoot wild life and sports. It has become my go to video camera as well, over my XH-A1.

It is well built, has some phenomenal features, and mine has been very dependable. It is a challenging body in some respects. It demands good glass and can require some practice to minimize noise and nail focus. It is unforgiving if you underexpose in some respects. I have had my 7D since Spring of '10 and have never had a single problem. Replaced my 40D as my main camera. I also want to fully agree with this post. The 7D can be a very unforgiving camera for mistakes. I love the 7D, reminds me a lot of my old EOS 3. But like the EOS 3 you have to get to know the camera. If you don't want to learn how to use the 7D don't get the camera. I spent over 30 days went I first got the camera getting to know the AF system. The 7D has a great AF system if you take the time to learn how to use it. I find this true of other parts, the camera has wonderful features but they are only as useful as you are willing to learn them. NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEM WHAT EVER. i LOVE THE CAMERA. yES i TOO, WAS A 40d TO 7d USER. still have my 40d for backup. That has been almost a laugh. I havn't needed a back up and as much as I like the 40D, the 7D is soooo much more camera. My particular desire is for perfect focus, and the 7d delivers better than any camera I have had up till the 5D3 that I got recently. It is great, but unlike before, The 7D still gets as much use as the 5D3. Well almost.!! I really like the 5D3 but I miss the reach of the small sensor bodies, so 7D will not leave until there is a better one.(7d) cc
