Taken two years ago near Fairbanks, Alaska:

Very dark night: 15 seconds, ISO from 400 to 640, and Tokina lens wide open. Still underexposed but I correct the exposure with CS5. The two top photos show the moon somewhere near the center.

great photos, I was out myself and got some great photos that same night but I was so tired that I took the pictures at the highest f stop and didnt notice lol. Still got the aurora but there is a lot of noise in the photo. Tonight will be pretty interesting.

Yes, I saw your photos.

And tonight the Auroras should be active according to the Auroras forecast at UAF (Alaska):
