My first L was the 135 f/2, which I ended up selling because it was too long (on a 40D, which was my DSLR at the time...).

Now have the 24-105 and 100. Looking to get another 135 L because I've gone full frame, and it was such a damn fine lens.

Wow! Old thread ressurection indeed!

Still, I'll play. Got a 350D years ago, then 8 months later got the missus a £1500 diamond ring for our anniversary. She got me a 28-300 L IS. Years later, still have it, still using it, and looking forward to the next anniversary ( which should be a 24-70 f/2.8L!)

(Useful tip here fellas, if she starts dropping hints about anniversary presents, buy a photography mag & start strategically circling adverts!)

Might as well get into this thread now.

Slangford, i like your thinking there!! "strategically circling adverts" :D

Bought the camera in January. Picked up a 24-105 F4 L in March.

My first "L" was also a 24-105 F/4

Already having a 17-55 F/2.8 IS USM . . . I wasn't as impressed as some, but there is a difference in the build quality of an "L" lens.

My problem is I don't want to sell either one now.....even with the overlap in range. They both have their uses.

A couple of weeks ago. It's amazing,

"Complete quietness surrounded me as the dense fog smothered all sounds. As the sun rose, lifting the fog to reveal this majestic mountain, all my thoughts of the daily hustle and bustle were put away, allowing me to sit in solitude with nature."

Mine was the 70-200 F4 IS. I still have it. So unbelievably versatile.

My first was a 70-200L IS F4. It was good but I had to send it in to get it "centered" and now it's great! Now I throw rocks at my non L stuff.;)

70-200 f/4L IS. Love this lens, and I never see me giving it up.

I can't really remember, but I do believe it was the 17-40L (which I no longer have).

I know what my NEXT L is going to be however... The 85L ;)
