it seems to be perfectly able to hold its own compared to the new Sigma 35. Cheers for posting those samples.

I was originally planning to get a Sigma 35mm, but now I'm not so sure...

Very nice bokeh, and sharp images @1/4s are simply amazing! I'll definitely get this one, prolly next year after the 24L.

This lens is a monster in low light, the IS can be a lifesaver with its magic. For a shot like this, on a heavily overcast day, no need to bump the ISO up :)

Is this the only photo sharing thread for this lens, or am I missing something?

It is. It is just not popular.

I don't understand why not.

Why I personally don't like it:
price
slow
boring
aimed at video users

If it was $550 then perhaps it would be more popular.

I honestly can't imagine a lens with these specs at this price.
I sure hope they never add IS to the 85mm and 28mm f/1.8

I don't understand why not.

I have had the lens for about 3 weeks now and its quickly turning into my favorite. I don't know why people take more time to bash products they haven't used or aren't inspired to.

What works for me, might not work for all and every product has a buyer. Some have few, some have more. I recently returned from a sales conference, and only used this one lens. Its a monster in low light, I was constantly shooting at 1/10 sec and yes IS (called useless by many) allowed that.

I will post some more images later.
