Been following this thread all the way from Page 1! Amazing stuff and I'm definitely inclined to pull the trigger on the 6D. Just need to figure out if it's gonna be with the 17-40, 24-105 or Sigma 35 1.4... Decisions, decisions, decisions...

There's something that really strikes me your first pic Jon.
Was there a flash used or any post editing done?

Stephen.

Thank you! No flashes used, but I did do a little bit of an edit on it. I did a simple S curve for the highlights/shadows and created a little more vignette. Very subtle.

Sydney. First chance I've got to use the camera for such a shot, the wifi tethering iPhone app is incredibly useful.

That is one STUNNING picture!
I haven't used my canon 85 1.8 much, but you've got me very seriously considering getting rid of it to fund one of these Samyangs. - I've got a split focus screen ordered and will try that on a few manual focus lenses first to see if I can handle manual focus. If so, I'd be very tempted by the samyang as there is no way I could ever justify the $$$ for a 85 1.2.

Thanks guys! And yes, as for focusing, I do a lot of zooming in on live view and then taking the shot. It's really hard to get shots in focus with just the view finder but but live view is a lot better.

Awesome job man! I bought two manual focus lenses recently. I'll try that technique you mentiones with live view. I was use to the view finder before I sold my last manual lenses. Didn't know that you could zoom in and out with live view.

^You should also look into AF confirm chips. All of my M42 mount adapters have focus confirmation and it makes manual focusing just as quick and accurate as AF imo. Lately I've been using nothing but vintage glass and loving it ;)

well I just got my 6d and all I can say is wow! The wifi app is ridiculously cool. And so far I am finding the center AF point really really accurate and quick.
Was able to track my jack russell and my english setter at a dead run without difficulty.
what is really surprising me is how much I immediately love the 24-105L! really sharp crisp images, very fast and accurate AF, and the bokeh is really nice on this FF camera.
I will post some pics afterwhile.

Okay,. so how many of you have upgraded from a 7D to a 6D and kept the 7D as well? I love my 6D but I don't think I could ever part with my 7D... There's something about that camera... Not just its speed

Me. For both sentimental and practical reasons, the 7D was just a joy to use and I took many nice shots with it. And it's still the best camera for use with my 200mm 2.8 for sports.

Took the family to the city on the weekend and first stop, was the Melbourne Aquarium.
Shot mostly in AV mode, with the aperture set to f4. Shutter speed was set to auto 250.
I’m pretty happy with the following shots. No post editing – straight from the camera (SOOC).

I'll be keeping my 7D for wildlife / action photography. I'm having a hard time putting down my 6D, though.

First shot with my new 6D. The camera seems sharper than my 7D, but I HATE the fact that I cannot use my CS5:cry::mad: Adobe Camera Raw with this camera..and I'm NOT paying $700+ for Adobe CS6. (Evidently there's no upgrade available.)

Adobe sucks! BANDITS!

Use Lightroom it's better than Adobe Camera Raw and easily allows export to photoshop.
