I picked up the EOS M during the weekend's Newegg deal ($450 for the body and 22mm lens) and it just got delivered tonight. Initial impression (just a few shots) are good. Build quality seems very good and the AF with the 22mm lens is nowhere near as bad as some of the reports in the forums. It gets a little slow when the light gets dim but so do a lot of cameras.

IQ seems very good but that isn't a surprise. Again, I've only been able to take a few shots with it but it does seem like a great pocket camera.

I can't post the a photo of River without one of her big brother Ash :). I didn't have time to do much with the camera today other then take this quick snapshot of Ash. Again, I'm impressed by the camera and the 22mm lens.

Yup, Newegg had a special just for the weekend. I really couldn't pass that up :). Now to just get out and use it some more!

Hi there

I stumbled across this thread when I was doing some research over whether to invest in the EOS-M. I usually shoot with the 5DMKII but wanted something a little more portable. Having seen the various fantastic photos here, I went ahead and bought the EOS-M so thought I'd pop back and share a couple of the shots I have taken with it so far.

Using the EOS-M with 70-200mm f4 lens attached

It will work but I've found that my non USM lenses focus very slow with the EOS M to the point where I won't bother using them. I'm lucky in that I have a lot of good lenses with USM in them so it doesn't affect me with the M.

Not sure if the non VC of the tamron is old school AF or has a USM type
