That's a great idea Wilt. They have a student section that is elevated above the dugout. I'll do that at the next game. Thanks! Name: Theron

Liquid Dark Goldmember ![]() More info | caught this nice play action at base yesterday, just loved the dirt flying up into the air and the way the sun's setting rays lit it up. Can't figure out the best way to showcase it due to the length of the dirt's "spray" across the width of the frame. Should I crop it tight and show the faces over everything else, or go wider? btw, I will offer the player multiple crops, this is just for my use--want to choose a single image. Here are a few options below:

The dirt spray is nice, but nothing I would purposely crop loose for. You can still see dirt flying everywhere even on a tight crop. ![]() Michael Strout | www.michaelstroutphotography.com

The dirt spray is nice, but nothing I would purposely crop loose for. You can still see dirt flying everywhere even on a tight crop. You have 'image editing' turned on, so I did a quick crop of how I would crop it if the image in a perfect situation (where the image is in focus and you would't be doing an extreme crop). You still get the dirt spray, but the players (the subject of the image) occupy a much larger portion of the image now. However, keep in mind that cropping tight on an image that is even a little out of focus can get ugly real quick, so you may not be able to do this in this situation. Personally, I have found that most players/parents (or small town newspaper editors in my case) don't really notice or care if a picture is a little of of focus if the action is good. However, if for personal use you talking about posting it to your website/portfolio, I would strongly recommend only putting up work that is perfectly focused. ![]() ![]() thanks! William
