Yeah I know. Thankfully I still had the original. It's something to think about when I shoot now.

I think you have the option for the image not to wrap around the side and use black instead. not a hundred for sure. but i'm sure in costco you can do.

what was the original background, white? nice.

if you wanna avoid those color cast on the hairs, move away from the backdrop a bit. at least 5 feet. but it's also cool as you blended to the background color.

Thanks for the input, Vinz. I really don't want orange hair so that's useful. I am also seeing that a hair light would be nice.

Thanks Vinz, the Sigma 150-500.

Good to see someone with this body using this lens, currently. This lens is on my current wish list.

I've been around, in "lurk mode" :) Doing alright. Might be moving back up to St. Louis if I get this fairly high paying job. This thread seems to have taken over the other one.

I got my extension tubes about a week ago, but haven't really had a lot of time to play.

They feel pretty solid, metal mounts on both sides, they lock into place nicely, and they work with AF. One thing I did learn is that I know nothing about macro, and there is so much to learn...but these lil guys take getting up close and personal to the extreme.
Not bad for $59.00. Once I've mastered them a little more I'll post up some examples.

Congrats Jay. what i do is put my lens on manual mode and crank my focus ring to infinity... set the right aperture to have enough DOF... then move forward/backward to focus.

hope it helps.

you may wanna see focus stacking in youtube.

Thanks Vinz. I've been doing the same. I learned that it's easier to set the lens, and move either the object or the camera closer or further until focus is achieved. I also learned that for me, anyway, the tripod is my friend! I've read a little on stacking, but I'll be checking out youtube as well.

On another note, I'm dipping my toes into the FF puddle. I picked up a 5Dc which should be here today or tomorrow. For what I shoot, the markii or markiii might be more than I would ever need...at least thats what I'm hoping at the moment.
Lens-wise, I have my 70-200 and also a 50mm mki which should get me going, but I'd love to decide on a mid-range zoom to leave on it. I'll let you all know how THAT goes!
