Man... Even though I have the Mk I cinch and just need the $20 upgrade kit, that $55 for the Mk II with plate is very tempting... decisions decisions.

You don't need a compatible head, you need a compatible clamp. See if the clamp on your head is replaceable.

Got the pre-release email. Regarding the quick links, any concern of them rubbing against bottom of camera and cause some scratches?

I'd be concerned if all my camera did was sit on the shelf like a trophy.

Lol yea I know. I was just curious about that. I think this was discussed in page 27 (see post #399). I think that's a great idea wrapping the quick links with heat shrink. I might do it myself after I ordered mine. But want to see if Greg/Luma has better idea on that.

i'd still like to have purchased a mk1 cinch just to see how that puller operated, looks so cool in the pics.

Noticed on the new videos that both attachment points were at the bottom plate, whereas the old videos showed one attachment point on the left side of the camera (from the photographer's perspective). Just curious if this makes the camera sit differently at the waist or back.

EDIT: Screw it...ordered already! Cinch 2 + quick links...

So I just want to make sure I am gathering all of this info correctly!

1. V2 has an upgraded strap with new 'sliders' that, well, slide better than V1
2. The new plate has 2 connection points, where you should now attach your end points. How will this sit on the side of the hip?
3. Those "quick connectors" look just like something you can get at any depot/lowes, etc?
4. If I wanted to use my own quick connectors, with V1, I just need the plate for $15?
5. V2, has all the bells and whistles - plate, strap, new sliders, and connectors?

Is that all correct? Just trying to see if I really only need this new plate adapter (which looks like you need an allen wrench to take on/off, which sucks from a hand knob/piece for really being quick and easy)
