I agree, when I had my copy the AF missed all the time, seriously not cool... That's the only thing that makes me re-think purchasing it again is the inconsistent AF.

I find this interesting and troubling, as my Sigma 85mm is and has been perfect. It is becoming one of my favorite lens and I find it on the 5D3 quite a lot. But I am seriously concerned about buying any more Sigma lens' if they are so iffy?

I bought the Sigma 85 when it came out, and it was pre-ordered, and I know they had some really terrible QC back then, so I'm thinking since the company has become better in terms of quality (over all) they should have better QC, and I might have had a bad copy. My Sigma 35 works great, just had to do MA a little bit, but AF is consistent, so hopefully when I do buy another Sigma 85 it'll be the same.

I don't know if it's just me but it looks like it back focused on this shot. I like the shot in general though, framing, exposure, and colors are pleasing.

It's not just you, looks the same to me as well.
Overall I have to say I was really nervous about swapping two of my most trusted lenses for the Sigma equivalents. I am really thankful that my fears have proven to be unfounded and they both work quite well on my now-ancient 5DmkII bodies.
