In Canon's announcement of the 1.1.1 firmware update (found here: http://www.usa.canon.com …d_display/EOS1DX_firmware (external link) )
They show a picture of a sub menu in the Auto Focus (magenta) area titled "AF point during AI-Servo AF". I can't seem to find this in the 1.2.1 firmware version running on my new 1DX.

Did they take it way after making such a point about adding it? Did it get moved somewhere else under some other name?

The other example they give is still in the menues so I'm confused.

Your help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

I haven't done the update yet, but out of curiosity, did you remove the battery after doing the update, wait 10-15 seconds or so, and then replace the battery and check again?

Actually, I thought this was some new update and not the update from January of this year that I did do already. I seem to remember that with some of the firmware updates, I've had to remove the battery and replace it before seeing some of the new menu items.

Didn't realize I might have to remove the battery. I'll try that and report back. It is interesting that the camera recognizes it is using the new firmware (base on the versions its reporting) but who knows.

Found It!

They moved it to the VF Display Illumination Menu in the the AF5 group! Not exactly sure where it was on 1.1.1

You go into that menu and then hit the Q button to jump over to the new menu "AF point during AI Servo AF" Its a sub-sub menu.

Then it will allow you to select between "Non illuminated", Illuminated(Normal), and Illuminated (Brighter)

Thanks for sdipirro for contributing...
