Lovely shot, drigo! Did you blend several exposures? I am curious how you got the boat to be as bright in the foreground without blowing out the sky.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Isn't there a seeing that prioritizes taking the shot vs being in focus? So even if in rapid fire mode, it may hesitate between shots if the image is not in focus??

Yes, drive speed vs tracking priority. But I'm not sure if there is value in telling the camera to take shots even when it knows it's not achieved focus.

Thank you! I used an ND filter and exposed for the sky..I then brought out the shadows in LR4...I also used the brushes in LR4...

First post from the new-to-me 7D. Spent some time with MA on the 50mm 1.8II, which works nicely. The 7D focuses the nifty fifty quicker and more deftly that my old T2i ever could. This is just a shot from playing around with MA.

A couple from today. I don't why I worked on this Kestrel shot first since I have better ones.

question for wildlife, bird photographers using the 7D. Do you shoot RAW or jpeg. Ive always shot RAW but I'm starting to wonder if the cameras jpeg engine would do a better job dealing with grain/noise which drives me nuts, Ive tried exposing to the right but unless its a full on sunny day I'm still getting this grain. I don't ever have this issue with my other DSLRs but 7D is really the best camera for small birds or where I need cropping ability....if I could just get less grain straight up
