It used to be 10-22, 17-55, 55-250, 50 f/1.8 and 500 f/8 (forget the brand). I was pretty happy with that setup for a long time.

Going FF, it's now 17-40, 24-105, 70-200 II, 100-400 and 85 f/1.8. I sometimes think about getting rid of all the rest. But I have a hard time letting go of my little tubular friends.

All on a 5D III. Reckon that'd cover my needs.

Target is, that this year these realistic 5 lenses are:
- 17-40L
- 35L
- 85 1.8
- 135L
- 70-200 F4L IS USM

unrealistic... well, lets not go there

They all work great. Don't plan on changing any of them. Yes I know its 7, so scratch the 18-200 & the 50 if we must get down to 5.

Would like to have something longer, 600 or more that is affordable (good luck with that) for my next purchase. Maybe a 400f5.6 with 2x TC, just not sure if manual focus and the IQ would be acceptable to me.

Ideally, I would replace my 17-40 with TS-E 17 or TS-E 24
My mind is willing to do so, but my wallet is bruised & hollow.

While i like the 17-40L; I'd sell it tomorrow for a 14-24. (I'm tempted to get an adapter and buy the nikkor; but for the price I'd like native)

This will accommodate current (and future) crop bodies as well as any future FF bodies.
