I first noticed these at tj maxx for like $45, I was going to buy it but wasnt sure. then when I decided I was going to buy it every tj maxx in the area only had black ones, no red ones. now they dont have any of them. the center one was about $80. It recently occurred to me to try amazon and they have all the above for $60.

Jay, do you not use it because the client doesnt ask for it, or just because you dont like how it looks and doesnt occur to use it?

A lot of people around here seem to like pinup pictures, which is one reason I am thinking of this.

A little of all three...lol Another reason is...it is kinda wobbly, it will support the weight of most young women, but I have had a couple sit on it and feel really uneasy, so therefore I tend to forget to use it for others. It is mostly used by kids playing on it, while in the studio!

Jay, what stools or chairs do you like to use then?

Ive really gotta look for some chairs this summer at yard sales, flea markets and "antique" stores. the one I have now has a back that is to high for the poses I want to do.

Mike , I like the 2nd one much better because her arms are covered up. She looks more comfortable and natural. your lighting is great.

I agree with the arms being covered. Did the best i could. Liquify was used on the first shot. Shes a cutie so I was OK with it.

I have a question for all you senior studio shooters *and those that do beauty portraits* I am trying to decide on what stool I should get for my studio next. I am not sure what design or color.

Would you get one of these?

Right now I am leaning towards the middle one in red. I know red can limit its use but I really like how it looks. Eventually Ill probably get a 2nd stool of a different design and color but I've got to many things on my to get list I'm about to buy a 5dc, flash and a couple things for the studio.

I had one my but my boys killed it. Reflections sucked from metal base.

I just took a better look at the middle one, the one in tj maxx was material, so easier to sit in. At least its the client in an uncomfy chair not us.

I may have to keep looking for something.
