first lens I ever bought was a Vivitar 20mm 3.8 for my Nik F3HP, what a fantastic combo :)

First ever lens I purchased for DSLR (10D at the time) was either the Canon 28-135 or a Sigma 50mm macro. Both performed how I expected them to.

Having said that the Sigma macro died last year. Or rather the AF motor died. Managed to flog it on eBay on the basis it still worked on MF quite admirably.

My nifty fifty. Probably my least used lens too. Most used is my 100mm macro

Nifty fifty, just like many others did.

No regrets as I sold it for more than I paid for it, due to price hikes.

But I wasn't all that happy with it, either. I am slowly warming up to 50mm focal length again, but wouldn't get another Nifty unless it's dirt cheap.

I bought both a 17-40L and 70-200 f/4 non IS about the same time. Not sure which was first. Both of them fine lens.

EF24-70mm f2.8L - still love it, most used lens in the bag, and in my opinion most versatile for what I do :)

Nifty Fifty, had to get something cheap to actually have a lens for the 5D :) Wasn't a bad decision though, lots of keepers from it
