I was at the Brooklyn Bridge park this past Saturday with a Sweet 16. While I was arranging the girls, the guys were a few steps behind me waiting. All of a sudden my client makes a face and asks - "Do you know him" and points behind me. I turn around to find some stranger arranging the guys for posed shots. WHAT?! I walked over and politely asked him to find something else to photograph and leave my clients alone.

So crazy, I had to share.

No, he actually had something nice. Not sure what the body was but I did notice the red ring of his 17-40. He had to be an aspiring event photographer.

Anybody ask him what he was up to? Or was it apparent that he was "practicing" with other folks' clients ;).

Nobody seemed to question the guy. I have a feeling a lot of people hang around the park to grab shots of passing parties, but I think this is was a rare scenario where a stranger actually tried to pose another photographers client.

That is about as weird as it gets. Street photography, yes, but posing stangers at a shoot? Brave but completely bizarre move on his part.

That's so ridiculous it could have been a subplot in a Seinfeld episode.

Brooklyn Bridge Park is a great place to shoot but the only problems are that it gets really crowded and there are so many photographers that we are tripping over each other. Some of these so call photographers act like they own the park. I have seen so many weddings and sweet 16s stop there and other photographer jump in to take shots to build up their portfolios.
