just FYI, the 1510/1514 case will hold a 5D2 with a grip AND an L plate standing up and will still close easily. I was worried that I would have to remove the plate every time or somehow otherwise move the dividers so the camera would lay in position. This was not the case here. The one thing I did notice was that the L plate made the camera wider, so that is pushing the limits on width. will try to post up a picture later.

My 1640 just came in the other day. Much bigger than I was expecting. Luckily it still fits in my hatchback lol

I had planned on using this case for my hand gun but as I'm moving to Guam I instead used it for my time lapse gear

It is the 1400... I used some pluck foam from a larger case that I had and cut it down to fit

I also had a 1200 but found it too small it is now my watch case

Pelican 1520 arrived today.
Intention is for quick access traveling (vehicle) use.
2 1ds with any lens I own with hoods on or extended (leave lens caps off)
for instant grab and use (and easy return)
Got some dividers spread around the inside so can be reconfigured easily on the go.

Very clever layout! You even have a space for extra batteries right in the center.

I was waiting for people to say how stupid I am wasting all that space. :)
Fast in and out is the goal.
I used the standard dividers that came with the case. With a little bit of modding, I can extend the "battery "space in the middle, will fit 200 2.8, 24-10 or 2 smaller lenses and still have fast access.

I'll have another case or bag with everything else.

And if you ever need to bring more lenses, you can always reverse the hoods and bring up 2 more lens spaces. Good use of space!

What's going on here? So much agreement for a POTN thread!
Also I can fit Teleconverter to the 400 5.6 and still fit in the case, just use a lens cap.

I'm not normally this particular, but rainy day, so fine tuned the 1520 Pelican.
Used the different dividers that came with case, fast access touring pack with bean bag in the middle.
Then move 2 dividers to add 24-105, Sigma 35, 580 flash, rocket blower and Spudz.

1510 with padded dividers.

5Dc Gripped
50D Gripped
Sigma 70-300 (hood on but reversed)
Canon 28-135
Canon 17-40L
Canon 200L
Canon 85 1.8
Canon 50 1.8
Sigma 24 1.8

Chargers (4)
Lens cleaner
Hoods
Rocket Blower
6 extra camera batteries
32 Rechargeable AA's
8 AAA's
12 CF Cards
And of course a small tin of Altoids in the bottom.

I LOVE this case. I keep all my flashes in a separate bag that I strap to the pull out roller handle. I was able to snag the Pelican off Craigslist locally, padding included, for like $80 if I remember correctly... It was under 100 for sure. A great deal on a great case!

200L is a Mk1. If it were even 1/4" taller the lid wouldn't close but as it is it just fits. The 5D with the grip pushes the lid padding just slightly, not as much as the 200L, but I also leave my tripod QR Plate on the 5D, so if I took that off it probably wouldn't even touch the lid padding.
