Im actually thinking about selling my 24-70 II to get one of these. This thing seems to give a lot of character to the shots.

If I were you (and I do weddings, street, product, automotive and events) I personally wouldn't do it. Just cause the 24-70 is such a necessary focal length, and the new one is PHENOMENAL! I'm like $500 away from picking one up.

Photography is a hobby for me. I haven't made a dime from it. The 24-70 is amazing. It really is. I recently bought a 85 1.2 and just love shooting with primes... I'm just kicking the thought around. Maybe I'll rent it first and see if I can live without the versatility of the zoom. Or just buy it and have a zoom kit and a prime kit?

I agree. I have both and will not give up one for another.
