Nah. Especially for this show.

i shot Fleetwood Mac from the board last week and picked up a 300 2.8 for it. It felt so limiting but it was needed for FM. The light wasn't that good.

For P!nk, her lights were so good that the 70-200 with the 2x extender at f5.6 ended up being WAY more flexible and allowed me to frame shots more creatively.

Maybe you should look into the Sigma 120-300/2.8 OS, sounds like it would fit the bill.

They are introducing a new model in the near future and I expect prices on the older model to drop when stock is being cleared. :)

Somehow it costs less than a 300/2.8 prime and pretty close to the Canon 70-200 II.
