Ken Rabbers Photographic Art (external link)

I would appreciate any comments regarding my website. I've had it up for awhile now and have had several non photo people give me some useful feedback but would like to get some input from this community. The site is on Zenfolio and so far I have been pleased with what I am able to do.

Some specific questions I have pertain to presentation: is it helpful for the photos to have titles?; are the background and text colors showing and contrasting well?

For the most part my focus is on nature photography. I have Transportation as a category primarily because of my love of cars and racing, not because I have an eye for that sort of thing. I'm just trying to give people an idea about what I like.

Thanks for any and all comments.

Well, I really don't care for the background color(s) or how each photo has a colored border, but that's just personal taste. That being said, the website is very easy to use and navigate, which I have to say is surprising since many (MANY) of the commerical photography websites people post here seem to lack this. It's also nice to see your pricing is clearly posted.

Clicking the links brings one to a new template style. The navigation links shift to the top right. This may be hard to control with it being hosted on Zenfolio. I'm not a fan of dark colors for a theme. Personally I would go with a lighter color or plain white. The watermarks are a bit distracting.

Personally, I avoid the selective coloring and overly saturated colors, not my style for post processing.

Definitely some good nature photos that require extensive travel. If I had more time, I'd travel more with my camera.

I like your website but why did you put a watermark on all the pictures on the homepage? It is not necessary. Nobody is going to steal it. It's flash.

People can still steal the images pretty easily with snipping tools or whatever, but the watermarks definitely have to go either way. The photos would all be low resolutions even if they were stolen. The site is nicely laid out. It's simple and easy to navigate which is key. I am not a fan of the color scheme at all, and do not like the reflection on the logo. I'd consider changing some of those around. That is the easy part though....good job overall!
