Pagman: if your computer can run it try downloading the Lightroom 5 beta from Adobe. I use a 20D and used iPhoto until the logic board on my macbook died and then I got an i5 windows8 laptop and tried the the LR4 trial. It took a little adjustment but it did more than iphoto so I bought the full version and haven't repaired my macbook. It might be worth it to buy lightroom and use that for a little bit until you can save enough money to get a new cam or lens. I'm not gonna upgrade to LR5 because I'd rather get an SSD for my laptop instead.

I recently purchased a 30D used at a great price, along with 3 lenses. I've sold off 2 of the lenses (and recovered all of the original asking price for the body, lenses, bag, speedlight and some other accessories) and I still use the 30D as a backup or when I don't want to take my primary camera for whatever reason. I'm trying to break into the realm of selling fine art at galleries or arts festivals and shows and the camera's lower resolution is a potential problem, along with low-light shooting and a few other things. That said, I still love the 30D and think that it takes some great photos. This was taken with the 30D and a Sigma 50mm macro that I purchased with it. The photo is nothing special but it came out nice and sharp and I like the color. For what it's worth, I'm not great at photo-editing and this photo (along with all of my others) is only very lightly edited.
