I am coming from a 40D so the 5d doesnt seem all that different. However whenever I take a photo the picture looks really washed out on the LCD. I feel that it didnt do this on my 40D, regardless of the shooting conditions. So my question is this. Is this just the 5d2's LCD being different than the 40D? Or do I need to expose consistently to the right or left or wherever to get a shot looking good.? Mind you I havent loaded any photos onto the computer to check how they look, I am just looking at the images on the LCD. Any suggestions or info on this would be great. How do the menus look compared to the photos? _

First of all, use your histogram instead of your LCD to determine proper exposure. Your LCD is not a calibrated display. Its affected by ambient light viewing conditions and brightness adjustment. Check your menu setting and set your LCD brightness to auto. My 5DII display is much better than the 40D, but that doesnt mean its accurate because its variable.
