very nice
but the second photo shot with the EF 85mm f/1.8

Yikes - good catch man! I was shooting these and trying a few different lens set ups. 24-15 / 85 1.8 and 70-200 2.8. Clicked on the wrong pic to include in this group!

Hm, i need to get to know my 24-105 a little better I think. Haven't used it much since i got it with the 6D, been mostly evenings-indoors stuff, so used the 50 1.8 and 85 1.8 a lot more. Now that I've used it a little, I think i'm doing something wrong with it. Too often I get pictures that just look soft, maybe too low of a shutter speed, maybe subject movement. Need to experiment more to find something that works. Because I do get the occasional image that is pretty sharp with it, but they seem to be few and far between. Something about my technique needs to change.
Of course it could be that I got a little spoiled by the sharpness coming out of my primes, but I DO get some sharp enough pictures out of the 24-105... so don't think there's anything wrong with the lens, but with the way i use it :)... maybe I should try using it with my flash. (though the only time i did put my flash on the 6D, the ETTL II did not seem to work, the flash/camera were somehow making the images even less exposed than they were without the flash).
Sorry about the ramble guys :)
Because, I'm starting to get thoughts like, what if i'll never be happy with the lens or pictures coming out of it, maybe i should sell it and replace with a wider angle prime or something. But a lot of people seem to be quite happy with it, and I think I will be too, it IS a useful walkaround focal lenght. Probably just need to put it through more use in different situations (inside/outside, with/without flash), to see if I can get better with it (or find any fault in the lens while its only a couple of months old and still under warranty).
