Try Sirui T2205x with G20 ballhead. Works for my 5d3 like a charm. Light weight too.

I have a Sirui G20 ballhead, and that is just junk. If I unlock the pano base just so much that I can can pan, it runs all but smooth, like some surface inside is very uneven. The tension control is very inaccurate, and the tension knob is loose, so it will not stay in position when transporting or other type of handling. I also have a Markins head so it is perhaps an unfair comparison. The Markins Q3T is the same size and far better in all areas execpt the security pin in the quick release clamp.

I got the Sirui T-025 Carbon, folds down to around 12 inches. I carry it at night to Disneyland and no issues whit weight.

Dear KIPLIQ,
Could you please clarify… Re: new SIRUI T-025X with a folded length of 11.8 inches – is this folded LOA with ballhead or folded LOA without ballhead?
(I have the Gitzo GT1524T for air-travel but even though it is a nice quality product, find it too bulky with a folded length LOA before ballhead of 16.7 inches )
Thank you.

Dear SAVIS K/ZOHAR0,
Good suggestion, insight & experience - the SIRUI T005X seems like a nice unit at $139.95 USD (and within the $150 criteria).

I have both Markins Q10 and Sirui K20X ballheads. While the Markins is noticeably higher quality (smoother, more stable, more solid feel), the Sirui is by no means junk. I haven't experienced the issues that afoton describes - perhaps there is quality variation and you have a bad copy?

Cheers, Damien
