Ok which one? I love that new L-478DR got remote operation on Pocketwizard power but maybe it's better to have L-758DR Receptor Reflected Light feature? What do you think?

It depends...

  • not everyone owns lighting which has PocketWizard compatability
  • some folks use reflected/spotmeter readings to measure the relative background brightness, vs. the subject

So if you need both, then which one do you choose?!

Because different people have different needs. For landscaping I would go with the L-758DR. If I'm using it more for portrait and studio I would grab the L-458 or L-358 instead and use that extra money towards other photography equipment. .02

Have found several lightly used L-785DR for $400 - $430 on POTN and FM forums so to me these with the reflective spot metering is the winner I think for me. Now I just have to figure how I can use it with my Canon RT system but I'll have to work that out from what I read. Waiting for it to arrive so I can work this out. Wish me luck might be challenging.
