This weekend I shot the The Legends Golf Tournament for the paper. It was great to be out there and see some of the older golfers. The sun was pretty bad.

Here are a few.

Golf is my one of my favorites to shoot so thanks for sharing.

#1 looks soft or has motion blur
#2 is soft and with a caddie walking into the frame that would be a throw away imo
#3 doesn't do anything for me
#4 is the best imo out of the 5, good capture of a spontaneous moment
#5 I would liked to have seen different angle to minimize all the distraction in the bg

Totally agree. First three get deleted in camera but you live and learn. #4 is the best moment.

The last two are the ones that I used for the paper. The angle is difficult because there were 20 photographers and camera men there so you don't get a choice during the actual moment.

Thank you for the advice.

With the exception of #1, they all also look underexposed. I'd like to see if there was another shot like #4 that showed his frustration.

This is an excellent reason to stake out your spots beforehand.

Shooting tournament presentations and getting the prime spot is like being in a bull rush. It happens it thirty seconds. They put the table up and everyone runs to it. Here are a few images of the paper.

Nice. As for the bull rush, that's when you assume the role of biggest bull

LOL -- Very True. The media from the PGA, Golf Channel and other national agencies get grumpy. :D

It can be a scrum, no doubt, but you're there to do a job, just the same as anybody else. Don't ever let them push you around.

Good advice. I don't know if you have Ever shot PGA events but you may want to stay away from Stan. He is one big guy and carries a Nikon with a 200mm - 400mm lens. :-)
