Hey what's up guys, I am looking for a cheap but good audio recorder with a mic input. The reason being is because I got 3 newer mics for 5$ that I am gonna use to record audio at a distance, and to do that I need a audio recorder. I have a zoom h1 that I run my shotgun mic audio into.

You likely need to share a little more information, like what is your budget? I assume you want to record digitally? The TASCAM DR-05 is awesome for the money. Search on Amazon.

I use a Sony m10 (external link) for concert recording. Do your mics need phantom power? Mine do, and I use a Sound Devices MixPre as a preamp and to provide the 48v to the mics. If they don't you can run directly into the unit.

The m10 is a great unit for ~$200 (when you find it on sale). Does up to 96k at 24-bit. Battery life defies the laws of physics. I've taped 10 shows on one set of AA, and they still show full.

If you need more than 2 channels the Tascam DR-680 (external link) is a pretty sweet 8 channel deck for a little more $$, ~$430 these days, I think. Only 6 have phantom power.

Canon 6D gripped and bracketed, 24 TS-E L, 24-105L IS, 70-200L f4 IS, Sigma 50 Art, Sirui BSRM3204X + Induro BHL3, F-Stop Tilopa BC
