I tried the selective colour mode on a person in a Kayak.
Wish there was a larger file allowed to post here, the detail is lost as is.
Then another from a visit to Steveston, a jpeg processed in Topaz.:D

A hungry man at The Hungry Man. A quick grab shot as he was getting the bacon sandwiches, for the table of bikers next to me - they were joking around.

A couple more pics taken with the G1x.
The skyline one is taken using Iso1600, at around 20.50PM and the light was fading. I stripped out the Exif data when I resized the pic to fit the size requirements here.
The cat picture was taken using the 1.5TC setting, and it works very well, at least I think so. It is Iso500.

The low-light ability of this camera is amazing.
The Jpeg's out of this thing are spot on just about every time for me.
No regrets about buying this camera at all here.;)

Nice shots but that has to be the ugliest cat I have seen

Rented a G1X to try out today. Considering downsizing from my 7D to one of these or a Sony RX100.

how's the AF speed? that's the only thing i'm concern of before deciding. a lot of people said it's sloppy in that department.

Certainly not as quick as my 7D. At the zoo it was a bit tricky for some of the faster moving animals.

The Sony RX100 is supposed to have a much faster autofocus and less shutter lag if you are looking at compacts. I was trying to rent out a RX100 but the store was out for the day.

I just don't see the point of the SL1. You still get 90% of the bulk of the normal DSLRs.

Why I got the G1X. To shoot low light intimate performances silently at decent shutter speed suitable for newsprint. Scott Law house concert ISO 12,800, 1/160, f5.8, 60mm. Silent is number one.
