Checked Best Buy last night -- $2400 for the kit, $2600 today. Frustrated because I was going to order today. What gives? A $200 price increase overnight? Any chance of this coming back down?

Seems Canon is cracking down on MAP.

They should keep it cheaper than the Nikon D600. Most sites are recommending the Nikon because it has more features. I'm sure they're both great, though.

Thank you. bw!

Wait until November. I predict 6D, body only, MSRP will be $1799. And it will be on Canon-refurbished site by then. I knew my broken A1100IS would come in handy some day!

Its just around $1550 in Vietnam atm, and still decreasing. Its even cheaper than a used 5d2 (which around $1550-$1600 for one with 1-3k shots).

Except most people immediately think of Canon when they think of quality camera gear. I'm not saying Canon is better than Nikon, I'm just saying that's the thought. It's like me going to buy a vacuum cleaner, I know nothing about them but I know I mostly see Hoovers so I'll be honest, that's probably what I'd buy :p

I was in a local Photography store yesterday, I made a comment about Canon prices going up and was told Canon is cracking down and wants all the retailers to sell at the same pricing.

It has been $1500 here in Thailand for several months now and seems to be continuing to drop.
