f/1.0 ???

super shot btw :D

Thanks!

Hmm, looking at it on smugmug, I'm seeing 1/1000 at f/2.8, ISO 1600. Jeffry's EXIF viewer on the image above also shows the same: http://regex.info …F0%2FXL%2FIMG_8531-XL.jpg (external link)

How are you viewing EXIF?

Quick one from me :)

The set up! Proper bodge job.

Just out of shot is a gelled flash pointed at a white wall. Oh and the camera is on a tripod just behind the umbrella (can't quite see in the shot)

The result:

oh oops. I see the lens now. I'm using FXiF viewer for Firefox and it's showing f/1.0 for whatever reason. But the lens says 70-200 2.8

I have not even begun to start into the realm of editing. I have been told great shots become excellent but I have to ask what are you using and is there an editor for rookies that is not so intense. Being a amateur and not a pro helps that I dont have to make the perfect for anyone but me but I see so many shots like yours that make me want to explore more and more. I am really impressed.

Wow, thanks that means alot to me. Im not sure if my editing is the right way to go about it. For some reason, i cant help my self but to edit photos untill they look as far from realistic as possible, i dont know if thats my style or not, but i just cant settle for something that looks real if that makes sense. Here is an example of before and after edit. If your interested i can briefly tell you what i do.
I never read any tutorials, or look at books for photoshop. I have seen a few, but their editing doesnt interest me.

That's what insurance is for, no point bubble wrapping the camera, get out there and use it.

Yep exactly, paying alot of insurance so might as well take advantage of it. :)

interesting Chimp , ive just upgraded to a 50D last week ( was 300$ with 17/85 Is lens) AF wasnt suppose to work but its was a setting issue , damn thing works fine :P , so now slowly im lookng at gear & wat i will need like basic stuff for portrait & wedding since i was requested for one this summer

Have you looked at using the 50D micro-adjust on focus yet for each of your lenses?

I went 50D a month or two ago, and this is a feature I find quite useful.

Very cool shot Kevin! Definitely Ad worthy imho.

Basic light box that's on it's last leg. My CR2 on my RF602 went out so I kept the flash on camera but bounced off the side/top of the box.

Hey Yasick, I don't know how others might think, but I'm totally digging your style. Very unique and strong. If you don't mind, I would love to hear what you did in post. Do you have any LR presets? I'd love to try your technique on my photos.

Yasick, you have done some nice things with your post processing. However, this thread is about how you setup the shot. Camera, lens, tripods, light mods, settings, etc, ....... not Photoshop, sorry.

While I can appreciate your taking a stand, this thread trainwrecked at least 20 pages ago. . .-?

Whoty made his lighting thread as a response to the circle jerk this thread became a while back.
