I'm going on a business trip soon to HK and the Phil and wanted to make sure the standard gray charger for the 30/40/50D cameras is universal and would work in the 220V sockets there. Pretty sure it read ~240V on the charger, but I wanted to see if anyone who actually used theirs overseas can chime in.

I really appreciate it.

I've used mine in Europe and Asia. I usually bring a plug adapter and a small power strip and plug all my chargers/power adapters that support the higher voltages as well into it.

You will need a plug adapter. Other than that the charger will work just fine.
