Thank you, the images are amazing I was using a Canon 1DX with Canon EF400mm f/2.8L IS II lens. Shutter speed on the last photo was at 1/2000 @ f/3.5 ISO 320. Of course the guy behind the equipment had a little bit to do with the images captured

Of course the guy behind the equipment had a little bit to do with the images captured ![]() I am very fortunate after many years, to have been able to work up to owning top of the line equipment. I would believe that the guy behind the equipment was the reason the shots are so great, not the gear. Primarily, I was just curious if you were using a 300mm or a 400mm lens for my own personal reasons. Ive been debating between the 300mm 2.8 and the 400mm 2.8 for some time now. My fear was the 400 would be amazing for football/lacrosse/soccer but would be too much for softball/baseball at the parks I shoot. I do a substantial amount of softball and Im using a 70-200 2.8 IS II but need more length for the upcoming football season and was trying to determine my course of action. Thank you for the info. Crisp, clean, perfect shots with lots of emotion. Great work

May 16, 2013 12:38 | #14 gkross, the 400mm is my main go to lens and I use it for football, soccer, lacrosse, baseball, softball, wildlife, concerts and performing arts. There is hardly a photo shoot that I don't use it and it will force you to shoot tight. The cost of the new Canon 400mm f/2.8L II is huge, so before purchasing it I rented a 300mm and found it was too short, I also tried out a 400mm before making the final decision to go with 400 over the 300.
