I know its not Rolling Stone Material, but I love their lack of smiles and the graffiti in the background. Yes, no?

I think you have exposed it well but the shrubbery in the background is too distracting, did you get any shots from a slightly different angle so the background is mostly the rock/ dirt etc. without the greenery?

Travis.

To be honest it just looks like a snapshot(your 7D/30D are capable of much much better), judging by the bands they listen to check out Ryan Russell and Adam Elmakias work. They both shoot all those bands.

Here's my take on it:

crop closer and you need some sort of processing to sell this.

To me the shot was taken from to far away, definately crop tighter.

Definitely needs cropping and processing. Here's my take on it.

Not sure if anyone else caught on but yes there is some juxtaposition in the shot with the "Just Smile" in the background.

Angle of the shot doesn't work for me though.

I like "Just Smile" on the barrier to their right. I think it would really look better with more graffiti on the wall in front of them and a more blurred background.

If you can list all your gear in your sig line, you don't have enough stuff.

Wow...life gets busy. Sorry I didn't get back sooner.

Thanks all for the replies. I do like the B/W take on things and I agree with cropping tighter. Unfortunately I really only had one angle to get them and the "just smile." I shot it across a small gap in the terrain - they are on a bridge leading to an abandoned dam.

Thanks for the links Maverick, I'll check it out.
