this was not a planned shot, i dropped my elder brother to a wedding few kilometers from location and by chance i had my cam with me, it was heavily cloudy and i took the shot placing my camera on top of a power distribution box, placed my wallet under the lens and it turned out good :)

just after 5 minutes of this shot it started raining like this

I shot this last year while I was at a small Bluegrass festival in the village of Whittington.

Todd what was lighting the falls? Honestly when I first saw this, my first thought was "this looks fake" Can't put my finger on it, but it is a unique shot for sure

Thanks, this was lit with my flashlight - but the orange clay of waimea canyon really gave me fits in getting enough light. It seemed to just suck up the light and I agree, looks very odd. I've tried processing it several ways with different versions (I took about 30 shots) and this one was the best of the bunch.

I can't recall whether this was the full 30 seconds. I do remember that this was one of about ten similar shots trying to frame it up as best as I could, realizing belatedly that there was always one extra thing in each photo which I would try to remove and then start over again.
