I guess I'm the problem. Every time I look at everybody's images in this thread, I don't feel like I'm getting nearly as good as most. Guess I gotta keep practicing!

nino, have you got a high precision focusing screen? i would have a terrible time focusing without one.

No, I don't. I always use the view finder, then live view to zoom in. Guess I'll have to look into getting one. How does it affect using ef lenses?

well it makes MFing them MUCH EASIER! :)

if you go with something like a canon oem screen (ie, ee-s for 5dc) there is usually a custom function to keep light metering more precise.

i had a non-oem screen on my old 20d and even without the custom function dialling in a bit of EC was all that was necessary.

Cool. Thank you! I might have to grab one for each of my bodies.

"butt shots?"

i beg to differ.

that's ART man.

seriously, i catch a load of **** for it every once in a while, but most of the time it's tolerated. funny story: the other day, we had some friends over and ended up creating a drinking game in which i viewed my photostream on flickriver set to random and we all had to drink every time a shot of her rump came up.

needless to say we all got pretty wasted. big success! :D

usually it's the front element.

carefully screw down the retaining ring that surrounds it and you should feel it tighten up.

I don't own this lens, but I read earlier in this thread that the front element can become loose and to tighten it you just have to put your fingers around the front element and tighten it down by twisting it (clockwise I'd imagine).

Edit: Ah, the retaining ring for front element... I was close ;)
