Feb 17, 2014 12:43 | #146 Just a polite note in re: this thread to remember to use LD batteries if you work your speedlites for longer studio shoots. The external battery packs help with flash recycle time too, but the main thing is about the batteries in the flash itself. With frequent operation of the flash, conventional alkaline batteries can become extremely hot -- this condition ruined one of my old 580-EX (not Mk II) units at a shoot. Now, with LD batteries like Sanyo Eneloops, all is well for all-day studio applications of the speedlites. 2x 7D Mark II | 70D | 5DSr
