A mixed bag from last weekend.

March fly, loads of these about at the moment.

Earwig
They do have wings and they can fly if they need to, apparently.

Nice shots Lad. I have not seen earwigs in a long time. I am not so sure those little wings would carry that large bug anywhere but straight down. I actually like the detail on whatever leaf they were on as much as the earwig itself.

They can fly but are reluctant to do so, the wings are tucked beneath those hard leathery outers. The earwig was on an unopened poppy head.
