White House Black Market had a photo contest of women wearing their sweaters. Their recent advertising campaign showed a lot of pets in their advertising so the wife and I went that route. We didn't win.

There wasn't too much work on this image - virtually all basic PS stuff. Blended the sky using a bracketed shot, darkened down the landscape more, d&b, added the flare and cropped the sky slightly. Most important thing was getting the composition right in the first place - I had the final image in my mind when I took the shot...after that everything else is much easier. :)

Not sure what happened here, the first picture is really popping and your wife looks absolutely gorgeous, but in the second picture she looks to have aged (no disrespect intended) and the colours look very muted.

I agree. I think it is just a tad over-exposed. Darken it a bit and it should bring the contrast back and some more detail in the whites.
