This just happened 15 min ago. Building was evacuated again from the fire alarm. It was discovered that it was a small grease fire, no one got hurt and was safe to go back in.

Two times in one week, what are the chances of that?

X-Pro 1 + 18-55

I just got a new x-pro1 + 35mm f/1.4 today and impressed so far.

Experimenting how much the RAW files can take since I can't go out and shoot.

for those with the XPro1 and XE1, how are you finding it when you have to focus and recompose? And also the location of the Autofocus point selector does it slow you down having to use both hands to press it then move the focus point around? These two things seem to be what keeps me from solely using the Xpro1. Just wanna hear what others have to say about it.

The two-handed AF selection drives me up the wall. But it's nice to use in situations that aren't time sensitive. Otherwise I stick with focus-recompose. It works fine and dandy for most things, although I'm just using the zoom at the moment with the 35 in the mail. I may make more effort at choosing the proper focus point when the 35 gets here. Even with the weird differences between the Fuji and Canon, I'm hooked. The Canon kit is getting sold soon.

I never focus and recompose unless I'm shooting stopped down a bit (depending on distance). With my Canon FD lenses, I just set the focus point, then with the zoom in the X-E1 it's pretty easy to focus. It's not nearly as fast as my 5Dii's joystick, though. It's an inconvenience, but not terribly bad - maybe one or two seconds to change it, then a couple more seconds for the manual focus.

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

yes thats the thing I mostly dislike about the Xpro1. Also I wish there was a way to have the afL button act as a focus button for back button focusing which will take the half press shutter off like I'm able to do on my DSLR. But thats only wishful thinking.

I try not to focus and recompose but in choosing to move my focus points I find that I tend to lose time doing it. I'm trying to really love the XPRo1 but it get difficult at times.

Does the X-Pro1 not operate the same as the X-E1? With the X-E1 focus switch set to manual, I can use the AF-L button as back button focus.

^yes it actually does that which I tinkered with a few times but the manual focus on the X-Pro1 is not as good as some say it is on the X-E1.

Thought i'll share a pic from my first true outing with x100. Slow focus? I say "oh god yes", but still got the job done :)
