I would appreciate advice from Hawaii visitors/photogs. I am visiting Hawaii (four islands via cruise) for the first time in late June. I currently own a 24-70 f/4 which I will certainly take and an 85 1.8 that I will leave at home.
Here's the question: I have thought about renting a 70-300L thinking that it would be advantageous for far-away mountains, waterfalls, whale-watching, etc. However, in reviewing the Hawaii thread on POTN, I sense that the better choice may be something wide like the 17-40. I can only afford and desire to carry my 24-70 and only one of the other lenses mentioned here. Advice is appreciated - do I go wide or tele?
Thanks in advance.
