Memorial Day reminds me of our veterans...so here's a freebie to the first vet to respond:
I have a Gitzo tripod to donate to you....no charge & I'll pay the shipping (to any U.S. state address).
Here's the specs on it:
Gitzo 4 section tripod, unknown model, looks like sport or performance, 4 section with two center column extensions.
Size: 17' collapsed, 39' with no center column extended, 57" max with double center column extended.
Weight: 3 lbs. 12 1/2 oz
Gitzo ball head pan/tilt with degree markings for panorama shooting
Diameter of legs: about 1" at top tapering to about 1/2" in bottom section.
Condition: Works perfectly, as smooth as when I bought it. It has a replacement non-Gitzo foot on one leg, has my security etched numbers/letters on one leg. The legs are old school twist type and the legs only extend to one position..so no ground level photography without reversing the column.
I bought this around 1980 and used it for backpacking/hiking because it was small enough to fit into a pack. Pretty much retired it by 1990 when I got a larger Manfrotto so it has spend the last 20 years riding in the back of my car where it would occasionally be pulled out for a quick shot from the roadside.
I now use a Feisol 3441....about the same weight but extends higher and has adjustable legs with better twist locks.
I hope a military veteran can put this to use...no conditions on what you do with it, although I would love to see post a picture you've taken with it when you get it....and I hope when you're done with it you will pass it on to someone else.
