I think I still have a 21" CRT in my garage. Wonder if I should hook it up next to the Dell 30.

I ordered a Dell U2312hm this morning from Amazon. $199.00 & free shipping. At that price, I'm already happy with it.

Received the monitor a couple of days ago. I'm impressed with it so far, although I had to buy an additional cable (HDMI to DVI), since I had apparently overlooked the fact that the monitor has DVI, displayport, and VGA ports, and my computer has VGA and HDMI ports. Not much good to buy a quality flatscreen monitor and then hook it to an analog cable.

ASUS Pro Art, Excellent monitor....

https://www.asus.com/Monitors_Projectors/PA246Q/ (external link)

After reading several reviews and user comments on different forums in appreciation of Asus PA246Q, finally I bought this monityor but from the day one it was giving RED Ghosting characters, got it replaced twice from ASUS even the replaced monitors had same issue.

Finally returned it and got Refund and found Dell U2410 and am quite satisfied.

Well, my trusty CRT might get replaced: I've started getting horizontal white streaks, once in a while.

I'm using a Dell 2408, U2410 an HP 2475w and 2 Dell 2205s running on two AMD 6870s. The three 24 inch screens are a arrayed as a single XFinity display for Windows 7 32/64.

I've owned the Dell 2713hm but it had horrible blacklight bleeding issues. I now own and love the Samsung S27B970D 27inch IPS monitor. It's comparable to the Thunderbolt display with some pros/cons.

It's beautiful and comes factory calibrated and had far better backlight than the 2713. I use this specifically for movies and photo editing.

My main monitor is a Benq XL2420TX 120hz gaming monitor.

All powered by 680GTX SLI, quad core processor, 16GB of RAM, and Samsung SSD 120GB HDDs.

aren't your Apple and Dell 27" displays using the same LG panel?

Shhhh, don't ruin it for him.
Its likely he has problems with the 2711 and 2410 being aRGB, while the cinema display is only sRGB.

The u2711 and the cinema display both use the same LG panel, it's just the back lighting and the coating (on the Dell) and glossy glass front (apple) that separates them.

Pretty much every 27in 2560x1440 monitor made uses that LG panel, its been around for years and is still being used in the new Dell 2713, iMac etc etc.
There is a lot of variety in the hardware behind it, different models use different back lights, 6bit, 8bit and 10bit processors etc.
