Ha acoustic trigger, which also fell in the bucket of water. It took me about 7 hours total over 2 separate shoots to get it. I wanted these headphones over the balloon. but the water ended up being too distracting imo, taking away the attention of the subject, the headphones

that sounds like a shot concept made for compositing.

So i currently have ;
3 B800s
1 B1600

I want to shoot a water balloon exploding, and i know that the flash duration is too slow on any of the above lights.

I want to shoot a product on the ballon as it explodes so if i had one Einstein to light the ballon exploding then two B800s to light the product. Do you think it would still light the exploding water correctly?

or should i just get 2 Einsteins?

Your work is seriously impressive.

And for someone with such talent and accomplishments then asking these questions, seem very down to earth. You deserve all the success.

What power was the balloon shot at? I've done a fair share of 'splash' photos in action mode with my 3 Einsteins and find that I can really push the power up without experiencing motion blur.

They can be well above minimum power.
I did a shot a couple of winters ago with my Einsteins out on the ice. Capturing waves crashing into the icy shoreline. My recollection is the E640 was about 64Ws with an 8.5" reflector. Stopped the water cold. :-)
