Was in Marseille this past week, so been catching up on some great images.

Love the reflection.

Just wish I could have got all 4 in the 1 shot but they were so high up and moving so fast.......Saw a single Kite scoot past a couple of weeks ago and thought it may be just a one off. These 4 were following the very same flight path so just maybe they will start to populate this far south soon.

Cheers Dom and Loz,

aye Greenbottle, wasn't sure, had a friend staying so went bug hunting in the garden, he is 4, great idea until he saw a spider and cried. Also got him to believe I had a space rocket in my garage and I rocket up to the moon, and he saw some of my rocket in the Science Museum ;)

Its not that unusual to be honest. Two years ago I saw one flying over Reigate Hill as it passed our house. I asked a very knowledgeable 'birder' about it and he said its not that unusual to see them as far as Reigate. They have been seen around Smallfield too.

I suspect they will be become more common as time goes by.

I had heard rumours that they were nesting at Dunsfold Airfield which is less than a mile from my house.

Unfortunately, it looks like I'll be selling as the wife and I are splitting up!

Sorry BB, we'll have to do bacon butties from the local café if we go Buzzard hunting :(

It's an allium I think, not fully out yet though. It will be much better in a couple of days. How tall is it - does it have long green leaves? if you google allium purple sensation that's the most common one.
