hi all,

I am interested in this lens, and have a question for those of you that got the AF chip installed for this lens:

I got an AF chip installed on Samyang 14mm, and it is good enough for me because so much is in focus

but on this lens with f/1.4, is an AF chip just "good enough" / in "ball park range", or it can be accurate enough for portrait work? I am lazy, so don't want to go into live view if possible.

thanks

M

Both of your cameras have MA so you can make it precise if you need to. I use AF confirmed lenses all the time (Including a 50mm f/1.4) wide open with accurate results. For the best results though, I would recommend an EG-S screen for your 6D.

I found out you don't always have to shoot this lens at 1.4 Imagine that.

Still so much in love with this lens. It's working so nicely for shooting video in low light. Here is a short video project I did with my little brother for fun. Hope you guys like it.
