Hi guys, I recently got a nexus 7 and have been trying to find out if its possible to download RAW photos from my camera to the tablet and then onto a hard drive. Is it possible? If so which apps would I need? Or how do I do it?

Thanks a TON

I use the photo viewer from Nexus , but I use jpeg. I also use the dslr controller app for the Nexus and you can operate the camera with the tablet. There are adapters available allowing you to connect a USB to the Nexus (got mine from Amazon) http://www.amazon.com …o08_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (external link)

There are a few ways. I have the dslr controller app but i also use a USB OTA cable and an app like Nexus Media Importer which will enable you to access usb devices without root. Using that you can hook your camera up and should be able to copy images off just like it were connected to your computer.

ah thanks a ton for that. I have tried Importingmstraight off my 7D and have had no luck. I have since read that you can use a card reader and it "should" work. oh BTW have any of you used a hard drive with the nexus 7?

I have not tried a hard drive but it should work if the hard drive is externally powered. It won't get enough power from the Nexus 7. I'll have to try Nexus Media Importer and one of my cameras, I thought it worked but I haven't done it personally.

I haven't tried it yet, but this is what I found a few months ago: http://www.eye.fi/ (external link)

In the download section, there's an app for Android:

"Instant uploads from your camera to your Android device’s photo gallery – anywhere. The Eye-Fi X2 card connects directly to your Android device using Direct Mode. No tethering, Wi-Fi router or Wi-Fi hotspot required."
